Adoption Services
About The Process

The United States has set adoption regulations requiring that you have an approved home study prior to moving forward in the adoption process. Whether you adopt in or out-of-state, adoptions require home studies in the state which the adoptive family resides. Many agencies in or out of the state of Arkansas will ask, “Are you home study ready”? Some adoptions agencies won’t discuss adoption with you until you produce your home study to them. They know the adoption home study is the first step and a legal requirement in the adoption process.
Arkansas adoption regulations requires that I meet with your family twice to make an accurate adoption home study report. I’ll need to travel to your home on our first visit. I travel Arkansas, to Northwest Arkansas to rural Southern Arkansas, helping provide families adoption homestudies, during our first visit we will discuss your motivation to adopt and gather your biographical information required in your adoption home study. Click here to see all information required in a home study. I will also give you the required forms for background checks. If you would like to get a head start on your paperwork, click here to download the State Police Record Check, and here to dowload the Central Registry form.
After our first meeting I will begin working on your adoption home study report while we await the results of your adoption background checks. The second visit is approximately 2 weeks after the first visit. From beginning to end the completed document takes approximately a month to complete. You will have opportunity to proof read your adoption home study report prior to being printed and sent to you.
There are so many children in need of a loving family and there are so diverse types of families ready to adopt. You can adopt if you are single or married, a couple for 10 years or just a few years, or have been trying to create your family or have chosen to adopt by design. If you have made the decision to adopt and meet the adoption home study guidelines then you are ready for the next step toward your forever family.
When your document is complete your adoption home study is legally good for one year, it’s portable - meaning it can be used for: in or out of state adoption agencies, AND in or out of state private adoptions
